BW 1270 F1 Brightway Battery (Replacement)

Why does it say "Replacement"?  When The Battery Dude says "replacement" it means we have checked the specifications of that battery and found a direct replacement in our Juice Box brand battery.

The BW 1270 is a 12 Volt 7 Ah battery.   We will ship you our JB12-8 battery which has the same dimensions and will provide the same or more power.  It is fresh from the factory, brand new, fully sealed, and maintenance-free!  Keep your battery charged up after each use to maximize the life span while knowing the Battery Dude guarantees our Juice Boxes for 1 Year.

How can you be sure this is the Juice Box you need?

Start by checking the voltage of your current battery.  Most commonly sealed lead acid batteries such as Juice Box come in 6 volts or 12 volts but at times may be 2 volts or even 8 volts.  Once you know the voltage, check for the amp hours, or AH.

The industry standard for AH ratings is to display the number of amp hours you can draw at 1.75 volts per cell (there are 3 cells in a 6 volt battery and 6 cells in a 12 volt battery)over a 20-hour period.

Once you match up the volts and ah of the battery you are replacing, you need to check the size of the battery.  If your existing battery has a group size listed on it such as U1 or 27 you can simply find the Juice Box with the same group size.  This is because The Battery Council International sets a standard for some case sizes for battery manufacturers to follow.  This allows you to purchase replacement batteries and confidently know the battery will be the same size.

If you don't see a group size on the battery then you should do some good old-fashioned measuring and compare the dimensions of the battery that has gone bad to our Juice Box Battery sizes.

The last thing to compare is the terminals of your existing battery.  Smaller batteries have metal tabs sticking out called terminals.  There is an industry standard for these smaller, fast-on terminals that are two sizes, .187" and .250" wide.  We refer to these as T1 (.187") and T2 (.250").  Other manufacturers may call them F1 or F2 but rest assured they are the same.

Batteries with a top post connection can usually be interchanged with a flat top or insert terminal batteries.  This is because the device you are connecting has a wire with a metal ring fastened at the end which allows a bolt to go through the ring and through the top post terminal with a nut to tighten it to the battery.  These top post terminals are made of lead which is a soft metal, over time and with use, the connection may loosen.  The alternative is to take the bolt that comes with the battery, slide the wire with the ring at the end over the bolt, and tighten it directly into the battery creating a more secure connection.
